I've been taking numerous shots at misguided liberals and progressives lately, because they're my people and I feel that as such I should correct them when I see behavior on their part I consider wrong and harmful. I'll be called a traitor (and have been) for doing so--exactly the way conservatives attack anyone on their side who doesn't conform to the party line--because people are people (though that's no excuse for such nonsense).

But here's a shot at right-wing crazy: this person, who...well...I was more-or-less with certain points of their argument and then I hit the following:

"The word ‘Homophobia’ is a lie, since it implies that a normal respect for decency is a mental disorder." [1]

"Using the phrase ‘sexual orientation’ to refer to sexual perversion is a lie, because it implies perversion is value-neutral matter of taste rather than a moral decision in the context of an objective standard." [1]

"Using the phrase ‘B.C.E.’ or ‘C.E.’ to refer to B.C. and A.D. is not only a lie, it is a theft of intellectual property, a betrayal of our common culture, and an insult, made all the more abhorrent by how petty an insult it is." [2]

"Using the phrase ‘undocumented worker’ to refer to aliens illegally trespassing on our sovereign soil is a lie." [3]

"Using the phrase ‘homeless person’ to refer to a bum or a panhandler is a lie." [4]

Wow. Just...wow.

Homophobia? Check.
Religious bigotry? Check.
Nationalism? Check.
Classism? Check.
Fucking crazy right-winger? Check.

This isn't even shit you can agree to disagree about. This is deep-end, off-the-edge, completely nutters, dangerous, hateful right-wing bollocks. This isn't "if you understand the historical social dynamics, killing the lesbian character was insinuating all lesbians die horrible deaths and therefore behaving contrary to nature and deserving of their pain and losses blah blah blahdy blah", this is "GAYS ARE INDECENT FILTH!" End. Period. Frothfrothfroth.
