So, my friend was assaulted by some wanna-be gang members the other night and ended up in the hospital checking for a possible broken jaw; the same posers attack a family riding their bicycles the following day, in broad daylight on one of the main city streets, and brought the entire city's police force down on them (I drove by on the way home from work...every cop in town, plus the sheriff, plus a cop car from the neighboring town, was there).

I'm just wishing I knew more specifics about that incident. Nor do I know why ANY of them are free, but my friend is walking home tonight when one of these posers steps up to her and threatens to kill her if they ever see her again, or if she goes to the police about either incident; they also threaten to kill her friend who saw the whole bike incident if she goes to the police.

So our friend's sister calls the police about it because our friend is fucking terrified.

The officer's response: "There's nothing we can do because it was just words. Just have your sister avoid them."

WTF? So, if someone physically assaults me, puts me in the emergency room, then threatens my life the very next day, and has a fucking history of insane violent behavior, the police "can't" do anything?

Bullshit. I checked: making terroristic threats is a felony offense here in Minnesota. Five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

Apparently, though, the justice system only reserves that for anyone who threatens a cop or a judge. Everyone else is just fucked and has to deal with it on their own. Neighbor beats the crap out of you and spends the night in jail, then threatens to do it again...too bad! Just AVOID him, because you're in no REAL danger.

"Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?"

Apparently nothing, because they can't get off their lazy asses to come after you in the first place.

It's a new Fox reality show about REAL real cops.
