Finding Playtesters
I need playtesters.

I'm bringing this up because Expendable has wallowed, untouched, for months, precisely because I need a playtest to see the current mechanics in action and determine where to go from there.

Now, as some of you know, I spent two months -- read that a couple times for full impact -- trying to drum up a local group of playtesters or even just gamers. There was some interest mentioned repeatedly here-and-there, I put up flyers and reminders on the game board, I hung out and met the local game crew(s) at the local game spot...but when I'd show up, books in hand, ready to go, nothing happened.

Eventually, I just gave up in frustration. In fact, I have the feeling I beat my head against the brick wall for longer than I should have. Regardless, it was confirmation of what I already knew: there isn't going to be any indie gaming happening where I live currently, and I'm simply not comfortable testing my designs with my kids because they're still too young for most of it.

That leaves me with a desperate need for playtesters: people who sit down at a table together and play. So, where do I find these people? That is, not locally. I've exhausted that route as a dead end (and I will put my fucking boot up the ass of the first person to suggest I go look harder or again locally...two months, you fucker).

I mean groups elsewhere willing to playtest designs and offer design-oriented feedback. People I can send my design to and say, "Go to town."

So, where and how do I find these guys?

Here's another the question, why is this not a Forge resource? Why do we not have some dedicated "Indie Design Playtest Groups"? We are a community supposedly helping to provide resources and help to the community, and we lack a rather significant support structure like this.
