Slightly More Than Half

I'm with the 52% because there isn't currently a better alternative.

The who? The 52% of the American populace who accept evolution as more-or-less accurate and valid. I do so because: what is the alternative?

Dawkins Is Bad Medicine

I'll admit I can't stand Richard Dawkins, the author of the classic book on evolution, The Blind Watchmaker, which argues evolution is a purely natural process that does not require the interference of divine or supernatural agency.

It's Dawkins I don't believe in; he's an enemy to progress as surely as the religious fundamentalists and Creationists he has set himself up in opposition to.

Rock On, Games, and Evolution
Yep, I've been quiet lately. Been trying to get my head into the game at the new job -- overnight DJ at the local variety radio station. Things are starting to fall into place. I've got the board down (that's the deal with all the buttons and toggles), starting to remember the spots without having to refer to my notes, getting the timing for the spots right, and in general screwing up less WHILE LIVE ON THE AIR!

Remember, no pausing -- "dead air" is bad (but "DeadSpace", my upcoming Sci-Fi RPG is goooood) -- and unfortunately we are not supposed to talk a whole bunch. Luckily, for the shift I've got the boss isn't listening (is anyone?), and won't care as much if I add a little extra chatter compared to pulling the same stunt during prime time.

I almost puked the first time I took the mike and said the call letters while live on the air. Yes, literally, nearly puked, head was swimming and felt faint, blood rushed out of my extremities. I was warned that happens, no matter how much training you've had in similar venues (public speaking, theater, etc). I had to sit down for five minutes to stop shaking.

This job is so cool.
